Cake Decorating and more...
So I recently found some things that I've made in the past that are quite memorable. I would love to get back into cake decorating, but it might be a while before I do that. I had taken the Wilton's cake decorating class back in 2009 or 2010 when I was still working at the Albertson's bakery in Corona, CA! It was fun, but I'm glad that God didn't work it out to where I ended up doing cake decorating for a living. It is a shame, however, that all my cake decorating supplies I bought at the time have been long gone. I had moved so many times in and out of places with other folks that I had forgotten them and some other memorable things along the way. :(
Anyway, here are some pictures I found!
Princess Kitty cake - 2008. From my first Wilton's Cake Decorating class!
Wallpaper with verses from my pastor Milton Vincent depicting the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
A bunch of wallpapers I just added Scripture to. None of the images are mine! Feel free to download any you like, or if you have a request for any artwork you'd like with Scripture on it (like, if you have a picture you own and just want some nice text on it, or other image editing done to it) feel free to drop me a line and I can make it for you for a small fee or even free (depending on what it is you want done)! :)
Below are all the graphics I created for this summer to celebrate the joy of watercolors and design! I know most people sell this stuff but I enjoyed making these and they are actually a breeze to make. Feel free to download them for your own personal use. If you decide to use in published work, please give credit.
Welcome to my artsy blog!
If you are amused by my work, want to see the latest things I'm dabbling in, especially unfinished projects, this is the place to be. I will post ideas I have, little mock ups for projects I am wanting to work on, and things I have made for personal use. BE FOREWARNED: I am a firm believer in Christ and not ashamed - you will find a majority of my works here to have religious references and themes! Without further ado, let me share some things I worked on recently:
DNA concept art - This is a very rough idea sketched out (er, painted out); it all sparked with a friend online who I was talking to about the Bible and our roots in it. Somehow we began to discuss our DNA (maybe it had something to do with my church's DNA groups?) - anyway, a LONG time ago when I was a baby Christian, if a truly born again believer at all, I heard someone talking about how "if we looked at our DNA it would be like a song" or that "When God created us and spoke us into being, our DNA was like music" - and that's where this idea came from. It really is not original at all, as you can YouTube this simple phrase "DNA music" and find multiple organizations that have created a way to translate our DNA into music apparently. THAT IS WILD! Anyway, My concept was simply that God is so powerful, and each little piece of our DNA (what do you call it, proteins?) have an entire composition within it. It is probably not Biblical at all, but for an artist it sure makes a neat idea to play out on paper. The fact is, God is so big that regardless what our DNA is really like, it's so much smaller in comparison to Him and His greatness. God designed our human bodies to work in so many wonderful ways unlike any other creature, and our DNA is just one of the most intricate of the things God Himself designed. Who's the bigger artist then? God is.
"In Christ Alone" - One of my favorite modern hymns by Keith and Kristyn Getty. I don't know where the background image came from, but it is not my own. I just designed the layout. I like to keep this up on my desktop sometimes. This is one of my favorite hymns because it is one of those spiritual songs that covers just about every aspect of our new life in Christ and His deity: His birth, death, resurrection, and return. If you haven't heard the Getty's, I strongly recommend that you check their music out, also the others from Sovereign Grace Music!
Prayer - This is a touchy subject but I was trying to help myself be better about praying for others, especially people I didn't know personally. This came about when I was thinking of a friend who needed prayer for her friend who was going through a very difficult time. Essentially, I wrote this out so that it could be prayed for anyone. I went through the Scriptures and found various passages that this prayer was born out of. I wanted it to be a reminder of who God is as well; God is bigger than all our problems, and He is also the God of comfort, our Prince of Peace, etc. - so I hope that if you know someone who could use a good reminder about God and needs the prayer, that you might read over this and pray to God in light of these truths.
